Ann Gill

Teaching Artist

Ann Gill is a Washington, DC-based teaching artist with over four years of experience working with youth ages 6–18 in community-centered arts education programs. Her practice blends illustration, storytelling, and mixed media, with a strong emphasis on creative confidence, emotional expression, and accessibility.

She has taught with organizations including Words, Beats & Life and Brentwood Arts Exchange, developing and facilitating curricula for workshops, summer programs, and multi-week courses. Her lessons meet students where they are, prioritizing exploration, play, and personal voice over technical perfection.

Ann creates engaging lesson materials, from slide decks to hands-on activities, and adapts content for different ages and learning styles. Her classrooms are inclusive, supportive spaces where students express themselves freely and build confidence through creative practice.

As a professional illustrator and designer, she brings real-world creative experience into the classroom, helping students see how art connects to storytelling, culture, and everyday life. Her goal: spaces where youth feel inspired, seen, and empowered through art.
