Anais Lugo Axtmann

Anaïs is an art therapist passionate about working with children and adolescents towards building confidence, creativity and expression through the power of making art. Her techniques are based on building socio-emotional skills and supporting individuals towards identifying their own ability to problem solve and face adversity.
Anaïs has more than 6 years of experience offering bi-lingual (Spanish and English) individual and group sessions in clinical, school and community based environments to children and families in need of a safe place to express their thoughts and feelings verbally and visually. She has a BA in interdisciplinary studies (general art and psychology) from the University of Puerto Rico and an MA in art therapy from The George Washington University. She also serves as a consultant for Dept. of Behavioral Health and has her private practice Prisma Clinic.
Anaïs loves supporting children and adolescents’ creativity and mood in a non-traditional way. She includes play and mindfulness activities and is supported by CBT and trauma informed practices. Anaïs hopes to be an agent of change empowering and equipping children towards building resilience and enjoying the process.
