Katie Duncan
Art Therapist and Program Manager
Katie Duncan is a multidisciplinary artist, art therapist and educator who has devoted her career to empowering others through the creative process.
Katie discovered the transformative power of art through her own childhood experiences, where she took refuge in different kinds of art making including, painting, sculpting, writing, dancing and singing. While studying Studio Art and Psychology in college, Katie realized she wanted to help others access their own creativity as a pathway towards greater health and wellbeing. This led her to obtain her Art Therapy degree from Naropa University. Since then she’s supported countless children, teens and adults across a variety of educational, therapeutic and community based settings. One of her greatest joys is supporting others in fulfilling their artistic visions, and helping them see their innate wisdom and capacity for healing.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Katie enjoys cooking, dancing, listening to music, and spending time in nature with her family and friends.
She holds a MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology: Art Therapy from Naropa University and a BFA in Studio Art from Virginia Tech.
