Michael from Washington, DC is passionate about children’s mental well-being. He studied communication design and art therapy at the College of Creative Studies in Detroit and uses art as a tool for healing and growth. He found his love for teaching children through coaching basketball and mentoring underprivileged teenage boys in a local nonprofit organization. He started a virtual art class during the Covid-19 pandemic for preschoolers and young children because he believes that art can heal and transform society. Michael is passionate about promoting mental health wellness and plans to contribute to school partnerships and the community in innovative ways. He enjoys reading Sci-Fi books, hiking, and expressing his creativity through art and photography.
