Stephane “Steph” Detchou

Stephane “Steph” Detchou is a Human Resources Specialist at the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C. In his role, he helps develop programs to improve staff development, and he is currently leading the implementation of a Career Development Platform that will help staff own and plan their careers in the organization. Prior to this, as an HR Business Partner, he helped leaders implement multi-year workforce strategies and implement full-cycle HR programs for the teams. Steph also has a background in communications, having earned his Master’s Degree in Translation Studies from the University of Leicester and freelanced as a translator, editor, journalist in the past. Outside of work, Steph is best known for being a creative with a passion for music. He is the creative director and frontman of a local DC Funk/Soul band called Everyday Everybody, which regularly performs in the DMV and across the East Coast. Steph enjoys using music to amplify the work different organizations do. In his music, he blends his West African origins and North American upbringing, fusing different rhythms with storytelling to build bridges and encourage connections.
