Tirazheh Mofid
Visual Arts Teaching Artist
“Tirazheh Mofid is a mixed media Iranian-American artist, educator, and art therapy graduate student with a BFA from VCUarts. She has been teaching visual arts and theatre to children and adults since 2015 and joined Project Create in the fall of 2024. Her work centers creativity as a tool for healing, connection, and community. Through murals and peaceful protest, she has contributed to movements such as Black Lives Matter, Women Life Freedom, and Free Palestine. She has also led free holistic healing workshops for activists, centering Iranian voices while collaborating with local Black and Brown communities.
Tirazheh believes in the healing power of alchemy and meditation through art-making, and in empowering children to transform their pain into something meaningful, taking up space and making their voices heard. She sees art as a bridge between personal and collective liberation and believes that lasting change can only come from uniting social justice movements across all oppressed communities to challenge and dismantle shared systems of oppression.”
