Yasi Ebadi
Art Therapist
Yasi Ebadi is an art therapist originally from Iran, who has been living in Washington, D.C. since she moved to the United States in 2012. She studied food science and technology before pursuing a professional degree in photojournalism. Faced with the challenges of immigration, Yasi discovered the healing power of art, which helped her cope with homesickness and depression. During a visit to George Washington University, she learned about art therapy and felt an immediate connection to its potential for healing. Inspired to help others, Yasi shifted her focus and completed the necessary coursework to apply for the art therapy program, gaining admission in 2018 and graduating in 2021. Since then, she has been working at Dominion Hospital and, in the spring of 2024, began providing support for communities in D.C. through Project Create. Yasi is dedicated to using art as a means of self-expression and support for those facing similar challenges.
